Wow Where did Summer go??

I feel like it was just fourth of July....now its almost NOVEMBER! Where did the summer go?? Well let me give you a glimpse of summer... Fourth of July our middle son and his girlfriend...came home to utah. We, my husband, our daughter kayla , our son Austyn and our future daughter in law Tarra... had a great time and went to Sundance to view the beautiful landscape on a gondola ride! I had been working since June on a quilt for my mother for her 80th birthday. I got this wild idea that I wanted to make her a quilt of her favorite things after seeing this book: Some kind of Wonderful by Hatched and Patched

But I did not just follow her directions and make it easy....no

I had to change alot of it to make it personal. But I had fun doing it...It took pretty much all summer to complete but it was SOOOOO worth it ..here are the results.

Throughout this quilt are several special things... like on the clothes line are some jeans.... these jeans are made from my dad's actual jeans...see he passed away in Jan. 2010 so this means alot to her. I added a picture of my dad because of course he was one of her favorite things...lol! but he always teased her that "he was the boss!" So I put that as a caption on his photo. We always took pictures in front of a tree in our yard... with all the grandkids so I put a tree on the quilt and on the tree is my mom and dad's initials...since without them we would have no family. There is a family favorite recipe on there from my grand mother with a pie. I added a suitcase with all the states where my brothers and I live. and the color of the suitcase is a private joke...you see when my mother last visited me she went toone of her favorite places to shop "Ross" and bought this huge bright pink suitcase...because she had so many christmas gifts to take home...lol..I didn't know if I was going to be able to fit it in my car to take her to the airport!! I added a cute doll block designed by one of my good friends Ann, from Pixie Girl Designs because my mother loves dolls!!(Anns was a bit more complicated, but I simplified it) I added my logo on her hand bag...(of course!) On the back of the quilt were several labels with messages from all my brothers and my family, and one of her favorite quotes.

My quilt was beautifully quilted by Cathie and Melanie at Thimbles and Threads in Draper, Ut... and I am so thankful to them for getting it done for me with such short notice! If you have any quilting to be done I would highly recommend them! My Mom loved, loved, loved her quilt and it will always be a treasure!

I have been working hard getting about 4 projects going! ..... why do I do this to myself?? I know there are a lot of you out there who do the same thing!! Don't you?? I can't show anything I am working on... because one is a surprise for a very special lady having a birthday soon.... and the other items cannot be released yet... so I am really bummed not to be able to share! I am bursting at the seams!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but here is one little peak.... and hopefully the birthday girl doesn't see it.. This pattern is not mine but by Hatched and Patched! Aren't they cute?? There are so many father's I would love to say Happy Father's Day to.... My dad Joe Garbo, my husband Raleigh Lockhart, my father in law, Harry Lockhart, my Brothers....Tony Garbo, Ken Garbo & Dennis Garbo... Our son Joshua Lockhart(his first), our son in law Mike Haddock (his first too !) , My nephews... Bryce Garbo & Tyler Garbo (his first too...baby on the way!), Brandon Garbo and Rich Port. These are just some of the greatest dads ever!!

I wished I could hug my dad tight and say "Happy Father's Day"! But 1 year and 6 months ago he joined heavenly Father.

So, if roses grow in heaven Lord, then pick a bunch for me. Place them in my dads arms and tell him they're from me. Tell him that I love and miss him, and when he turns to smile, hug and hold him for awhile for me! I love & miss you Dad!! Until we meet again, I know God is holding you in the palm of his hands. Happy Father's Day Dad!

I just want to say you are the Light of my life! I love you more than you'll ever know. You have been the best father, husband and friend a woman could ask for! You may know the owners... Kim and Kris of the DIY Dish!! I had the pleasure of meeting the famous Kris Thurgood herself! (and what a sweetheart she was! Very friendly and down to earth). Her and her sister own the company "DIY DISH" ..it is the best creativity show to watch on the internet. Click on my side bar where you see the icon DIY DISH so you can enjoy their show too!

Then check out their new quilt shoppe! How fun is that?You may also know they have been on the Rachael Ray Show and Nick Bergus Show! They have even been featured in many magazines including the great magazine called "Where Women Create!" You just have to check out their new awesome quilt shop! They have such creative cute displays which make you just want to buy all your fabric and run home and sew something !! Here are a bunch of fun photos of their shop! Gather all your girlfriends and head on up to Logan!! They are going to be offering lots of fun classes and clubs! Most of the time I am satisfied with our local postal service,but yesterday I was a bit upset!I sent the latest winner package and it came back! (for 25 cents)! That was not the problem...what was the problem is I used the self serve postal unit at the post office and because I sent it as a large envelope ( which it was!) it was supposed to be sent as a parcel...I felt so bad since I had sent it a few days ago... So Kristen I apologize for your package being late! On to much better things. shop hop is coming soon to Utah!!!!! Cathy over at thimbles and threads in draper Utah is going crazy making sure everything is ready! She has some of the cutest new samples! You need to get over there during shop hop and check them out! I am going to be starting something new.... A give away a week... I think it would be fun! Finally some pictures of Market... I am sorry this took so long... I was celebrating my birthday!! Too Much Fun! then working.... yes... I still do that ha ha! Anymore there is never enough time to have fun!... so here goes.. lots of pictures!

Sample Spree Line which wraps all around the entire building and 2 hours before they open no less!... for those of you who do not know what this is... on the night before market opens they have an event called sample spree where shop owners can buy new fabric not yet out and samples and patterns from vendors. It is SO much fun!

My Mother, My Friend!

I just want to say "Happy Mother's Day" to a very special mom! My Mom, Louise Garbo. I would not know what to do with out her. She has always been my rock in life. She is the one I can always turn to for any reason. I want to thank her now for all she did for me as I was growing up. I remember how special she made every birthday. She told me how great a mom I was going to be when I had my babies. She just always gave me encouraging words, and now that I am a mom I appreciate her even more. So I hope everyone reading this has told their mom how much you love and appreciate her daily. I love you mom! Happy Mother's Day to one of the greatest moms!

Yes, its that time of year again!! Quilt Market is here in Salt Lake City in 15 days!!!!! I can hardly wait to see all the creative minds coming together for one big party! Yes, it is like one big party for quilters! I am totally amazed at all the talent in this industry and it inspires me to keep designing!

Refreshed and Inspired!!

So much has taken place since I last blogged... My husband and I went to Maui, Hawaii for 7 wonderful, sunny, relaxing days!! We woke up to this every morning... just imagine the waves crashing on the ocean and birds singing (some loudly!!).

then we had breakfast by the waterfall every day.

We got our exercise in too! My hubby runs...so he would go out and run while I walked the shore line on this wonderful walk way!

Sometimes he even walked with me where we saw lots of whales..(you see it is their mating season) and turtles... huge turtles.... it was so cool to see it all. Hawaii is such a paradise you don't ever want to leave. But reality calls and we are back at home... glad to see our family!! While we were on vacation we had more exciting news... Our oldest son, Joshua and his wife Julie were watching their adopted daughter , Reagan Rachel Lockhart being born! We did not expect her to come until Feb.12...but she arrived on Feb 5th 7 lbs 11 oz and beautiful as expected!! We can't wait to see her!! This also inspired me to sew again and start designing some new patterns! Now I look forward to spring...since I have had a bit of summer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are a few pictures I wanted to share.. hope you enjoy them!

Yesterday, our daughter turned 20! I can't believe my baby is 20 years old!! Where did the time go?? She has turned out to be the most beautiful, positive, sweet young woman! She is so creative I would love to see her start designing in the quilting world!! This is going to be her year!! This is going to be a great year for all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today marks the one year passing of my dad, Joe Garbo. I can't believe a year has passed.
I found this saying and it just seems to say it all so I thought I would share it with you.

Dad...I thought of you today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday,and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name.
All I have are memories and a picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part.
God has you in his arms..I have you in my heart!

I know my dad is with his heavenly family and i know he is happy ,healthy and can now see well but We all really miss him terribly!one day we will be together again.
If your father is still alive hug him close and cherish every moment.

"Falling Snow"

Well, its not falling snow yet... but Christmas is around the corner !! Can't believe I just said that! This cute stockings pattern (Falling Snow Stocking #212) has something for everyone. The snowman is definitely for the snow man lover in me!! AND all my snowman loving friends out there!! Baby Onesies are here!!

Finally a photo of the cute baby onesies pattern! I absolutely love babies and always have...so this was too much fun!! There are three boy onesies (car, dinosaur, and dog) and three girls (Princess crown, flower, giraffe)... all will be included on the pattern which will be available for purchase after the class I am teaching at Thimbles and Threads (a great shop!) on in Draper, utah Oct. 27 from 6-8 pm. (If you would like to sign up here is their number 801-576-0390 It will be so fun and easy!! This makes great gifts for the new baby!! One note: After I finished taking these photos... I realized the dog paw print is incorrect.. dogs have 4 paws not three.... so that will have to be changed... lol You would think I would know that since I have a dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lately it seams like I never have enough time... even if it is 4 days in a row of sewing... I often ask myself Why can I not get any thing accomplished????? But in reality I do get a lot done... I just expect so much of myself. So from now on I am going to make lists of things I do accomplish just so I can feel like I really do get some things completed. Does anyone else feel that way??? Also here is a little sneak on a new project I am working on...

I can tell summer is coming to an end... not because of the weather because here it is September and we are still having days in the high 80's!!!!!! (This is very warm weather this late in the season for us here in Utah! ), but because I am in the mood again for sewing and designing! I can't wait to show you everything that is coming out! First off here is my new halloween table runner pattern... "Witch Hat? ... should I wear today?" Pattern # 452

Today my dad would have been 90 years old..in his honor .its a beautiful day here... the sun is shining and the birds are singing, and all the Cherry Trees are in bloom.. Daddy would have loved it! He loved the perfect weather days...not too hot, with beautiful flowers... marigolds, snowball bushes, and clemetis. I can just picture him saying, "ah, this is nice!". He might even do a little dance.... you see He loved to dance! I wish he could have seen Hawaii... he would have loved all the beauty it has to offer. We had a big birthday celebration planned for dad with all of our family in May at my nephews wedding in Florida this year.. Dad would have liked that. I wished he was going to be there. He will be greatly missed! Today we will celebrate his life on earth and his new life in heaven. We love and miss you terribly. Happy Birthday Daddy!

Its been so cold here in Utah... so what better to do than sew???? I have been sewing a ton! Here are just a few sneak peaks of the my New Pattern #157 "Kaylene's Travel Set" ( my sweet Niece!) This set will include a cosmetic bag, curling iron case (which can be used when the iron is hot!), Cosmetic Brush Case (which fits right inside your cosmetic bag), and a jewelry case roll!! Life

Today marks two months that my father , Joe Garbo, has been gone. Gone from this earthly existance but onto a greater world in the arms of Heavenly Father. I know that he is happy and healthy now and enjoying life, but we miss him. He was always there for all of my family including my three brothers , me and my mom. He worked hard so we could have a good life and he always gave good advice. He was 89. We all know as our parents age that we will not always have them, but to me Dad is not gone, he is on vacation... a heavenly vacation and we will see him again. In the last few years before he passed, we had some funny moments with him that we will never forget. So when it gets hard to think of him as gone, I start remembering all those funny memories he left us with and before I know it we are all laughing once again. Thanks Dad for loving us, making us laugh and just being you... God Bless! Love you.

I am sorry for the delay in blogging but this year started out with a very sad note...and it has been really hard to get back to work.  I will address all of this later this week ... Helping me get back to blogging is great quilters like Kate Roberts.

She has sent me pictures of the "Ava" Bag #155 she made! These two cute bags were made from Riley Blake Fabric (who produce the cutest fabric!) called Just Dreamy (who are local producers so lets support them!!) and Michael Miller fabrics called Whimsy. Thanks Kate! They look Great!

First of all Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you celebrated the holiday in a safe, fun way!!!!!!!!! Also I wish everyone a great healthy, happy, properous new year!
Here are the pictures I promised from our Seattle trip!
My favorite part of Christmas is the lights!! Downtown Bellevue, Washington does a great job with just that!!! They put up the most beautiful lights as shown here
It was such a beautiful site to see giant snowflake lights everywhere! If you look just below the lights there are Toy Soldiers too! We planned on meeting our good Friends, Stan and Liz Fukui for dinner at the Palomino! I really miss them! Liz was my walking, shopping, lunching buddy! I think everyday!! (and I don't mean just the walking ha ha!) We always had just the best times ever! We met our friends at the "Palomino" restaurant in downtown Bellevue, Wa for dinner. Great suggestion Liz!! It was a wonderful dinner and way too short of a visit! Liz and I just need to get together for a weekend of shopping and lunching again! ha ha

Keepsake Cottage Quilt Shop

Hello again! Now for the best part of Day 1 in Seattle! My very favorite Quilt Shop, "Keepsake Cottage Fabrics"!!

When I lived in Bothell this is the shop that started the quilting addiction for me. Moving from Sunny Colorado to a rainy and cloudy Seattle in winter was a real adjustment for me. I had no friends and did not work so I could be home to care for my children. But when they were in school and my husband was at work I was going nuts !! ha ha So, I decided I needed to get a hobby and so I took my very first quilting class at Keepsake Cottage! All the ladies that worked there were always SO friendly! I loved it! I had no idea quilting was so easy! Today this cute little shop has expanded and is loaded with all the latest fabrics and patterns thanks to owner Julie Stewart. She was so kind to let me photograph the inside of her shop to share with you.. so ... Here are a few great pictures of the inside!!

Seattle!

Finally a little peace and quiet after Christmas! I sure love the holidays, but the stress of getting everything done just about kills me!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed lots of family and fun!

We spent a few days in Seattle and the moment I got off the plane I felt like I was home even though our real home is Colorado. This was our view of Mt.Rainer coming into Seattle!! Isn't this beautiful? We only lived in Seattle 5 years but I loved it.... after a 2 year adjustment....ha ha. We arrived just in time for lunch at our favorite restaurant!

Azteca!! And of course we had our favorite soup!! Tortilla Soup!!!!! I miss it already!!!

Then it was off for our first day of activities planned! Of course we had to drive by our old neighborhood and stop to shop at our favorite stores located in Bothell, Wa at the local "Country Village" shops. If you plan on going there... look for the big white and black chicken!! Sorry. the photos are dark...I had forgotten it gets dark early in Seattle in the winter!

Here is a small photo of the village (its much bigger than this)....just to mention a few...... there are small restaurants, shops of scrapbooking, fabrics, decorating, glass works, pottery, and ducks for kids to feed! The first shop we visited was my old favorite...which has changed so much! It is much larger and full of great things!! Pottery, quilts, glassware and tons of snowmen!!...not to mention great snacks to eat too! It is called "The Weed Patch" and Janene was kind enough to let me take photos to share with you!! Running, Running, Running!

It seems like I am always running... I wish it was literally.... then I would lose weight very easily! HA HA Time has really gotten away from me lately... Thanksgiving came and went... now Christmas is just around the corner.. I am working on so many things at once. Every Christmas I think I want to make all my family and friends a special Christmas gift... but then time slips away... and I have not made anything. Well for the last two months I have been making baby gifts! Does that count for something?? We have a new baby girl in our family!!!!!!! "Gracen Marie" was born on December 3 which is her grandpa's (my brother)birthday! What a great birthday gift! Isn't she just the cutest baby??!! She is the daughter of my Niece Whitney and her husband Rich. She also has a cute big brother, Noah!! The following goodies are all for baby Gracie!

I made a "diapers to go" bag, burp cloths, car seat cover (I still need to add the loops for the handle),

and two sets of booties... (I want to make more...they are so cute and fun to make)!! Anyway,, this is why I have not created any new patterns... soon.... I am waiting until after the holidays to get serious again!

Tomorrow my family and I are flying to our favorite city.... Seattle!!!!!!!!!!! I can hardly wait to see all our old friends and shop at all our favorite shops... and eat at all our favorite Seattle Restaurants like Azteca!!! I will be sure to take lots of pictures of quilt shops...(My old favorites!!) and all the beautiful scenery there to share with you! so until my return... have a great weekend and stay warm... (We have been freezing here.... 18 degrees.... lets just say Starbucks is getting alot of business from me!!!) Until next time... be safe and sew lots!

The new Winter issue of Quilts and More! magazine is out!!

So run out and purchase this issue!! There are such cute new things to make including the most adorable dog bed!! But, really the real reason to buy this magazine is to make my cute snowman mitten! I can't believe we are already talking Christmas and Winter... yesterday it was 75 degrees here in Utah... who can think winter with that kind of weather???? Today, is my mother-in-law, Sharon's Birthday!!!She is a wonderful, sweet lady whom we love very much!! So, Happy Birthday "Mom"!!! We are sad that we live so far away and are unable to spend time with you, but you are always in our thoughts! I see that You got all the snow wishes we sent you!! ha ha For those of you who don't see the news... Denver received loads of snow today!!!!!!!!!!! My son, Austyn, called early this morning to fill me in!! It is always crazy when you get that first BIG snow of the year..I am glad we have not gotten a huge snow yet... I am not quite ready... need to buy new boots! ha ha!! like these
I know they are not the typical snow boot... but I love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay warm everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday night I had the honor of being a guest speaker at a Quilt Guild Meeting held by one of my best friends Wendy Nygren (on the left pictured with another of my dear friends, Vicki Lish). Aren't these two just the cutest!!

We started out the evening with a great dinner consisting of a delicious chicken casserole, salad, fruit and a wide choice of soft drinks!

We had a short talk about quilt guild "business"... then I talked a little bit about how my business operates and how to get your designs in a national magazine.. and then we had a "show and tell " about patterns I have designed! Each of the ladies then talked about a special event in their live or showed a new project in progress or finished!

Leslie showed the group some wonderful quilts she is working on...

Then Wendy showed us her latest quilt made from one of my favorites..Hushabye by Tula Pink and a pattern by Anka's Treasures

We were also given a grand tour of Wendy's new sewing room and she is so organized! It was great... here's a sneak peak of her color organized fat quarters below!! We all found out how much she loves scissors too! (I know what I am getting her for christmas!! HA HA) All the ladies in this group are so fun and have a great time together! I had such a great time and so appreciated being asked to talk to their group! Thank you ladies!!!

Friday Harbor Bag!

The Friday Harbor bag is the perfect bag to carry along to your favorite sewing class, on vacation, or to school.

This weekend I made up my mind I was finally going to complete my bag idea for the new Sweet Water fabric called "Authentic"! I loved how it turned out and hope you do too! The front of this bag has a small pocket perfect for keys or a cell phone, with a decorative yo-yo flower while the back side of the bag is 9 squares with another cute yo-yo flower. On the inside there is a pieced look with four pockets and another yo-yo flower. It looks like a totally different bag on each side. New Samples!!!

Once again, Its Quilt Market Time! It's that fun time of year for quilt shop owners from all over the world and the most stressful time of year for designers. Market is so fun but at the same time so much work. Designers prepare for this market months in advance. Some of that preparation includes new patterns...samples.. displays....paperwork...travel arrangments... etc.. I am sad that I will not be attending market this time but, I was thinking how nice it was to not be going crazy trying to get everything ready!! (Although I will miss it!) but I was up till 1:00 am last night making samples for Riley Blake Designs to display in their booth at Market in Houston (so I guess I am ....going a little crazy!). Here is a few pictures of the new samples!

The Baby Chic for Haven #131 baby bag in the pink and brown are fabrics from Riley Blake Designs called "Wanna Be a Cowboy!" It is the cutest fabric ever! The new bag Ava #155 has two versions! One with a flower and one with a buckle closure... The teal bag is made out of fabric called Bloom and Grow by Riley Blake Designs, and the orange and brown bag is made from the fabric line called Sublime again from Riley Blake Designs. Bag it Bag #111 in the Brown, Green and Pink is also the Sublime Fabric Line.

My husband and I were at the local Barnes and Noble checking out all the new magazines and there it was .... The new magazine!!!! "More Fast and Fabulous Quilting Ideas" from Better Homes and Gardens. I have been anxiously waiting for this magazine to hit the store shelves!! I designed a new bag "Bucket of Blooms" for this issue, and its so exciting to see my work in publication!! It is a great magazine too! Lots of new stuff to make!!!!!!!!!!! On Saturday my daughter, Kayla, and I had a chance to meet Heather Bailey, fabric and pattern designer. She had stopped in at Material Girls Quilt Shop in South Jordan, Utah for a meet and greet. It was such a pleasure and oh so much fun! She shared her upcoming pincushion pattern designs (heather, your secret is safe with us!!) and her new fabric designs(of which we can hardly wait for)...she also showed us her sketch book...what fun!!!!! She inspired both my daughter and I to design more! She is truly a very talented & friendly lady! We love all of the Heather Bailey fabric, patterns and designs!! So keep up the great work Heather!!!!!!

Hope you are all out enjoying your fun labor day festivites!! Since I have to work we are enjoying the time in our home town! My Quilter, Abby, just finished my two new patterns... the Ahoy Little Boy quilt which is pictured on this page, and a new fall table runner... She did a fabulous quilting job... as usual!! Thanks Abby! Pictures of the new table runner will be added soon!! Also, I just set up my etsy account!! It wasn't hard,,,but it is going to take me a while to get everything in there! Hello everyone! It is such a beautiful day here in Draper, Utah! The nights are becoming cooler and fall is definitely not far behind! Finally I am in the sewing mood again. When it is so hot outside all I want to do is drink diet coke and eat fruit!! (oh and sit by the pool of which we don't have... ha ha) The new line "All Stars" by Riley Blake Designs is out and oh so cute!!!!!!!!!!! Just finished a baby boy quilt for the beginning sewer! Here is a sneak peak!!

Since Fall is just around the corner.... a new table runner design is coming soon too! I am just in the designing mood!!

Lovin' the Sun!!!!!!

Just got back from the greatest place ever! Cancun, Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was fabulous! My kind of vacation... heat,, moisture... water,,, beach...a good book, diet coke, and more sun!!!!!!!! and the biggest turtle ever!! That's right, our first night in mexico walking the shore we saw the largest turtle ever... (sorry the pictures dark...it was really late at night) we later found out it was their nesting season. They bury their eggs in the sand and when they hatch the little turtles swim into the ocean! It was such a great experience! Our daughter Kayla went with us..her first time in Mexico. She used her knowledge of the language to get us breakfast every morning ha ha...it was very funny!! So many people think I am spanish, but I am not, I am italian!! So people would start conversing with me in spanish and of course my blank stare made them stop quickly! She did really good and learned alot. We took her to swim with the dolphins and she had a blast! We would love for all our family to go next time!! Hint Hint... you know who you are!!

Yesterday I saw this cute little pear hanging from our tree! Its very first fruit!! Isn't it cute! My daughter thinks I am nuts since I ran out with my camera in hand to get a photo!! I felt like a proud mom!! ha ha! Today I stopped by Material Girls Quilts only to find out Nadine (the owner) took the day off!! I can't believe she actually left the shop!! I am so proud of you Nadine!! I did find some new fabric that I just love and must create with... what will it be??? A new bag, runner...Maybe a new quilt?? Its the new line called "Authentic" by Sweet water for Moda. Don't you just love it???

All my Favorite colors!!

My favorite colors are all displayed in this new jar my sweet hubby, Raleigh, made me!! It is so cool! The lid of the jar is a wooden top he turned on his lathe. I have it displayed in my sewing room for those moments where I need a sugar rush!!! Bubblegums in lots of my favorite flavors! I do have a very creative and talented husband!! Thank you sweetie!!

Marathon Day!!

Well, yesterday was a true Marathon Day.... My husband and Daughter ran in the Provo River 1/2 Marathon!! I am so proud of both of them as this is a such a lifetime achievement!! It take a special person to have the strength and will power to run 13 1/2 miles!! (non stop) Our daughter Kayla gets this strength and endurance from her dad!! Not from me... running is so hard for me.. I am sure that if I really got into it.. I could do it... but I would only do it for the losing weight aspect!! Kayla's boyfriend, Isaac, and I were standing there waiting for the runners coming into the finish line and since you don't know exactly when they will be coming you just cheer every one coming on to the finish line!! It was really exciting and fun! I was so amazed at all the different runners! Of course I brought my camera and then it didn't work even though I had the battery charged (so I thought) and all!! Bummer! So then Isaac suggested I used my phone camera.... great idea... but then it kept timing out! I only got one photo at the end and almost missed Kayla coming through due to a crying baby!! I was disturbed that the parents were not paying attention to his needs!! Then I stood attentively waiting for my husband to come around the curve! I was just so proud of both of them... they weren't even winded!! I would have been dragging myself over the finish line with red blotches all over my face....(thats what happens to me when I get heated up!) I am so proud of them.. and if I can figure out how to get photos from my phone to my blog I will post one here.. PS I just received the new table topper from the quilter and I will be binding it today...so stay tuned for the finished result!!

Yes, I am back in the blogging world... it has been one crazy summer! And so hot in Utah! Yesterday was 102 degrees! I so love the warm summer nights! But its time to get back to work!
The new snowman table topper fabric has arrived !!!! I am remaking the sneak picture I showed you earlier with the new fabric coming out soon called, "Be Merry" by Riley Blake Designs! Can't wait to share the whole topper with you... I should be done this week. Also a new halloween table runner is finished! And here is the picture! Let know what you think! I loved the spiders! My 21 year old son, Austyn, just had his tonsils out! I feel so bad not being with him to to make sure he is doing well, but his girlfriend, Tarra, has been so good to him. Wednesday night I got a very nice surprise at my door!! Our Sons, Dustin, Austyn and Austyn's cute girlfriend Tarra came for Kayla's Graduation! It has been so nice having our family home all together! Graduation was fun! The kids made it so entertaining with all the beach balls appearing out of no where when the prinicpal was giving his boring talk! Although he was not too pleased with the parents for laughing!! He really needs to lighten up! They are just kids and I didn't think beach balls were all that bad! Lovin' having them home!

I was an "Early Bird" today. Made some coffee and headed up to my sewing room at 6 am... Speaking of which I am showing you a few more pictures. I am sorry they are not the greatest. The weather has been a bit overcast which makes the photos dark. I plan on putting up some Vinyl lettering so I will show that when I finally get it done! This is my new design wall with more of the 3-D flowers by Fig Tree and my new ironing board cover which I must say was so easy!! I was a very busy girl today, I designed two new patterns today. One is a table topper for snowmen lovers!! and the other is a table runner both to be released within the next two months.... or as soon as the fabric is released! I will include some sneak previews soon! My daughter is graduating in a few days. Can't believe my baby is all grown up! Where did the time go??? Be sure to check out my good friend Kay's blog! Okay here it is .... the new "Prepster" bag! The outside green triangluar pocket has a zipper closure just big enough for all those last minute items.. phone, lip gloss... etc...!
